Graduation Date: December 2018
How did you end up at Performics?
After completing an agency internship during undergrad, I knew I wanted to work for an agency after graduating. I started out at a small digital marketing & PR agency primarily working in social media and content creation. After about 2 years with this agency, I began my current role at a larger media agency. With this role, I also shifted away from social media and more toward other aspects of digital marketing, mainly paid search and programmatic media.
What does a typical day in the office look like for you?
My daily responsibilities include managing media budgets, optimizing digital media campaigns, and analyzing performance data which I report to our client on a weekly basis. I specialize in Paid Search media so I work in a variety of search engine platforms to maintain and optimize campaigns for my client. Over the past year, I have primarily worked with clients in the tech and telecom space — it has been a great learning opportunity for me as someone who has never been too tech-savvy!
How has Digital Studies influenced your career path?
In my digital studies classes I was first exposed to databases, photography, analytics and digital media, all of which factor into my current and past professional roles and career aspirations.
Did you have a favorite Digital Studies class?
My favorite course was Com Arts 155: Introduction to Digital Media Production! Such a fun and educational class that I truly loved every week.
Do you have any advice for current students?
My advice would be to stay curious and keep an open mind. If you see a class that interests you, go for it! Both of my certificates were the result of signing up for a class outside of my major on a whim, and I couldn’t be happier that I made the decision to try something new in both of those instances. My college experience wouldn’t have been the same without the memories and experience I gained through my Digital Studies coursework.
What achievement are you most proud of in your professional career thus far?
With so much of my professional career impacted by Covid-19, my proudest accomplishment would be helping my clients adapt and pivot in the midst of the pandemic.
