How did you end up working at Grubhub?

I was an Account Specialist at EatStreet in college where I helped accounts with order issues, menu issues and any other issues that came up for EatStreet customers. It prepared me for my role at Grubhub because it was in the food industry and helped me get experience interacting with a different set of customers. I left EatStreet because I wanted to move to Chicago after graduation, so it was the perfect time to transition to Grubhub.

What does a typical day in the office look like for you?

I am the key contact for all Enterprise-level accounts on Grubhub. Developing client partnerships and overseeing the growth of my brands while building the value of Grubhub is my main goal. I work cross-functionally with internal teams to support my clients who are corporate brands. Every day is different in client success but some main tasks include driving technical integrations, marketing campaigns and quarterly business reviews to strategize and make goals for future quarters.

How has Digital Studies influenced your career path?

Digital Studies has helped my career path by providing me with technical skills that were taught in my digital studies courses. For example, I took Library and Information Studies 351: Intro to Digital Information and learned about SQL and databases that I not only really enjoyed, but has ended up being super helpful in my roles since college.

Do you have any advice for current students?

Try a little bit of everything until you know what you’re really passionate about. I started as a biology major and switched majors due to taking a communications class.

What achievement are you most proud of in your professional career thus far?

I am most proud of being recognized as an MVP at my company due to how my brands speak about their partnership with Grubhub and myself. Learning how to understand and communicate with all types of people is something I continue to excel in thanks to all the opportunities at my company. It goes to show that developing successful partnerships is an integral part of my professional life.
