Art 107: Introduction to Digital Forms

Explore the basic practices and conceptual concerns of digital media art: image acquisition and  manipulation, video, 3d design, and web/networked technology through coding. Beyond simply working with the tools, you will be encouraged to look at what contemporary artists, designers, scientists, and engineers are doing with them as well. Though this course will have a heavy technical bent, of primary importance is the overall quality of work/product produced and not the technical difficulty required to complete the work.

Code Image Repetition

Set of three pink presents with yellow ribbon on a green background

Created by Rachel Ren

This project explored image repetition using p5.js, where the goal was to recreate and repeat an image in any arrangement or quantity. The inspiration for this project came from an idea I initially planned to incorporate into my Secret Santa website for another class. Although I did have time to implement it into the final website, the project was enjoyable and learn how to code in a visual aspect.

3D Reality/Unreality

Created by Jimmy He

Jimmy He, a Computer Sciences and Data Science double major, designed this outdoor basketball court in Rhino as part of an environment project. The goal was to create a space that feels real and familiar, like a spot you’d find in any neighborhood.
